Birthday Party Checklist

5 to 6 weeks before the party

q       Discuss party options with your child

q    If you choose to have the party at home, give careful consideration as to whether you have the space to accommodate the number of guests you will be inviting.  Will you be having any entertainment at this party?  Moonwalks, clowns, magicians and the like all book well in advance.  Plan a date for the party and make your reservations now.

q       If you choose to have a party outside of your home, select a date and book your party at a party place

3 to 4 weeks before the party

q       Decide on a theme for the party.

q       If you are ordering supplies, place your orders now.   On-line ordering is quick and convenient option for supplying your party. On-line ordering takes the hassle out of coordinating a party for your child.  You will have hundreds of selections and your order will be at your door in days.

q       Make a guest list.  Give your child a number of guests that he/she is allowed to invite and let your child come up with the guest list.  It is, after all, their party!

2 to 3 weeks before the party

q       Send out invitations (with RSVP date).

q       Plan activities and menu.

q       Arrange for extra help on party day from friends or relatives.

1 week before the party

q       Order cake.

q       Purchase last minute party supplies (don't forget candles!)

q       Order helium balloons.

q       Make any foods that can be prepared in advance and store in freezer.

q       Make a schedule of activities.
