OLYMPIC GYMNASTICS OPEN HOUSE AT TAMPA BAY TURNERS
Tampa Bay Turners is hosting an open house in celebration
of the upcoming
2008 Summer Olympics Games. From 2-5pm there will

The Fifth Annual Heartsbreath
Flute Extravanganza
Enjoy the art and music of Native American culture at this extravaganza!
Native
American flutes have a sweet haunting sound that soothes the heart and
soul.
Other featured ancient musical instruments include drums and rattles.
Some of
the 10 featured performers are Native American flute recording artists.
Learn
the basics of making a flute as Flute Builder Master Craftsmen present a
flute-building workshop. Join us for a silent auction of Native
American-themed
items, or shop for other Native American items. This extraordinary event
is free
and open to the public. Recommended for all ages. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

What's in a Frog's Song?
Ever wonder about those frogs singing in your neighborhood? Join us for
an
entertaining multi-sensory presentation to discover common frogs and
what they
can tell us about the environment. Fun activities help you learn tricks

recognizing and remembering their voices. Pre-registration is required
for this

12th Annual Back-to-School
Care Fair
This 12th Annual Junior League of St. Petersburg event is
designed to give
families an opportunity to get a variety of services they need in one
place at
one time. In addition to health screenings and school physicals for the
children, parents can learn about resources in the community. Students
can
receive free immunizations, school medical exams, vision and dental
screenings.
At the completion of screenings and physicals, participating children
are
provided with free backpacks loaded with donated school supplies needed
to start
school (limited to school-age (K-12) children present and registered
while
supplies last). *Attention Parents! Please bring your child's record of
prior
immunization. Legal guardian and child must be present to receive
immunization
and school supplies. One backpack per child, no exceptions. Come to Back
to
School Care Fair and get... * Medical Exams by All Children's Hospital
and
Bayfront Medical Center * Immunizations by the Pinellas County Health
Department

GREEN ARMADA WILL BE “SHINING THE SHORES” IN
LARGO
Volunteers Needed For Canoe and Kayak Cleanup August 9 The Green Armada,
together with River Quest and the City of Largo will be cleaning the
shores of the Largo Paddling Trail that flows from Highland Avenue to
Lake Seminole. The Green Armada has held several Saturday cleanups in
the Tampa Bay area this year, but this is the first in Largo and the
first that is kayak and canoe based. Check-in, briefing and breakfast
begin at 8:00 a.m. on August 9th, 2008 at the Largo Preserve, 150
Highland Avenue S.E., Largo (at the intersection of East Bay Drive,
behind Everest University). Volunteers are urged to bring their kayaks
and canoes to the launch site at. All volunteers should register at
www.GreenArmada.org. If
volunteers do not have their own kayak or canoe, The Green Armada and
River Quest have 77 seats available. To reserve a seat, please call Joe
Gonzalez at 1.800.496.9161 (press 1 for Tampa Bay, then press 3 for
volunteer and event activities). Participants are asked to wear
closed-toed shoes with thick rubber soles, gloves, and appropriate
outdoor clothing.

Cleanup of Largo Paddling Trail
On August 9th, join the "THE WAVES of CHANGE" Family and
“Grassroots Organizations” in a "Setting Sail Celebration" at the Largo
Nature Preserve located at: 150 Highland Ave. SE Largo, Florida 33770
and Eastbay Drive(behind Everest University). We will be "Shining the
Shores" of the Wonderful Largo Paddling Trail that flows all the way
down to Seminole Lake Park. Bring your Kayaks or Canoes or use one of
ours, let’s all pull together and make this "THE WAVES of CHANGE" Event
in Largo, Florida a huge success. Invited participants include
