The Fourth Annual “Locks of Love Day”
Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio has proclaimed August 16 as “Locks of Love Day Tampa Bay.” Bucs and Bulls Heaven is once again teaming up with “The Pirate Lady,” as she hosts the annual event when Bucs fans will be able to donate their 10-inch
ponytails. Hair donations made at the event benefit “Locks of Love”, a
non-profit organization that provides children with custom, vacuum-fitted
hairpieces made entirely from donated human hair. All hair donors will receive
goodie bags and be entered to win a game day makeover. Prizes will be given for
the longest ponytail, youngest and oldest donor, and more. At last year’s event,
more than 90 feet of hair and 84 ponytails were collected for Locks of Love.
There will be plenty of activities for the entire family throughout the rally
including food, drinks, music, balloons, beads and more. In addition, those
whose hair isn’t quite long enough yet can still make life-changing donations at
the Florida Bloodmobile. Bucs fans will get to enjoy a special fashion show,
featuring all the latest fan gear. They can also have their picture taken with
“The Pirate Lady,” “Big Nasty,” and other “Pewter Nation Super Fans.” From 11
a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bucs and Bulls Heaven, 14823 North Florida Ave., Call Jeff Fox
-- 813-908-2827 for more information
